TEF/HOPE INSTITUTE GRANT APPLICATION

You must be a school in the Tuscaloosa City or County School Systems. Grant applications must be submitted by an administrator at the school. The school must be invested in the HOPE Leadership Academy process.

Must be a school in the Tuscaloosa City or Tuscaloosa County School System. Grant applications must be submitted by an administrator at the school. The school must be invested in the HOPE Leadership Academy process.

 

Grant Amount

The TEF/Hope Grant Application must not exceed $3,000. 

 

Grant Details

  • Grants submitted to the TEF Character Committee will require authorization from the current School Principal (Tuscaloosa City Schools/Tuscaloosa County Schools).

  • The funds can be requested for any of the following: 

    • HOPE Leadership Academy registration

    • Substitutes for teachers to attend HOPE Leadership Academy

    • Travel funds (e.g., Year 1 at Samford University, another exemplary school in the HOPE process, or conference travel)

    • Teacher workday for the HOPE team to work on a Promising Practice, State School of Character, or National School of Character Application

    • Application fees for Promising Practice, State School of Character or National School of Character

    • National conference registration and/or travel for schools in the advanced stages of the HOPE Leadership Academy.

 

Selection & Criteria

The TEF Character Committee will award grants at the beginning of the HOPE Leadership Academy cycle and will also consider grants throughout the academic year.

Selection will be a competitive process based on free responses submitted by applicants. When necessary, additional items may be requested from the TEF Character Committee (e.g., zoom interview, Continuous Improvement Plan, examination of websites or social media pages). Grant awards will be sent directly to the recipient by check in the school’s name to the permanent mailing address noted in the application. Grant reviews will be ongoing. Awards will be announced by TEF via official letter, phone call, and/or social media pages.
